Welcome to Throwback Thursday! Each week we’ll be taking a look back at some of the greatest moments in the history of the brand. Make sure to check us out on Facebook and Twitter to see what else we’re up to.
For this week’s Throwback Thursday we are looking back at a legend who traveled the globe with AND1, leaving behind a slew of signature moves and a trail of broken ankles.
Philip Champion, aka Hot Sauce, joined up with AND1 in 2000 and hopped a plane to play in one of the first AND1 Mix Tape games in California. The rest is history, as Sauce went on to be one of the most popular players on the tour, helping to bring AND1 to the worldwide stage.
If you aren’t already familiar with the dribbling guru that is Hot Sauce, you NEED (repeat: NEED) to check out some clips of the Sauce handling the rock. Moves such as the “Boomerang,” “Stiff Leg,” “Hurricane/Sauce2k,” and countless others came from this man. Please kids…don’t try this at home:
And if you’re really feeling Saucey, check out this new movie that was just released detailing Sauce’s career and legacy:
